Course Description: The previous course of this series, Installing and Configuring Client Access/400, introduced an 11-step procedure for implementing a PC-to-AS/400 connection. This course, Configuring Client Access/400 on the AS/400, covers three steps of the procedure:
· Acquire the information you need for each client.
· Identify each client PC to the AS/400 host.
· Enroll users.
The course begins with a review of the AS/400-related connection tasks. It then introduces the AS/400 panels you can use to configure PC-to-AS/400 connections. Subsequent sessions of the course describe the connection process for the following connection types:
· Twinaxial connections
· Token-ring connections
· Ethernet connections
· SDLC connections
· Asynchronous connections
· TCP/IP connections
You should take one or more of these sessions depending on the type(s) of PC-to-AS/400 connection(s) that your organization will use. The final session of the course describes how to enroll users on the AS/400 system. This task must be performed for each user before he or she can connect to the AS/400 system.
