Overview - VisualAge for Java for Non-Programmers
Synopsis
Create Java programs-without writing code! This book takes you step by step through creating Java applications visually with IBM's VisualAge for Java product. Visual programming lets you build applications from parts, using a palette of tools-similar to popular drawing programs.

This book assumes no prior knowledge of Java or general programming--if you can use a computer, you can create Java programs. It teaches Java concepts while also teaching how to use the VisualAge for Java visual programming environment. Even if you're completely new to programming, by the time you finish the lessons in this book, you'll have all the skills you need to create useful Java programs.

Each chapter of the book shows you detailed steps for creating applications and teaches a particular Java concept. The solution files are provided on CD in case you get stuck. This book originated as a set of Web-based tutorials, so they've been test run by users for more than two years. In response to overwhelming demand, we've turned these tutorials into a book.

This book will help readers improve their net worth by teaching them from scratch how to create applications in Java, the language of the Internet.

The CD-ROM Includes: VisualAge for Java, Version 3.0, Entry Edition for Windows, VisualAge for Java, Version 4.0, Entry Edition for Windows, Universal Database Personal Developer's Edition Version 7.1, WebSphere Homepage Builder Version 6.0, and the solution files and beans for exercises included in book.
