Overview - Java for RPG and COBOL Programmers on iSeries Student Workbook
Synopsis
To stay on the cutting edge, you will have to learn and use Java. This student workbook applies the principles learned in the companion texts: Java for RPG Programmers, 2nd Edition and Java for S/390 and AS/400 COBOL Programmers, both by Phil Coulthard and George Farr.

Turn theory into practice with this comprehensive set of hands-on exercises and questions designed to reinforce your knowledge of the Java language while comparing it to the language you know best. After completion of this workbook, you will be significantly further along in your Java learning experience. As an added bonus, much of the Java you write during the exercises can be used again in later projects.

CD-ROM includes: > Eclipse workbench > Solutions for all lab exercises > Answers for review questions

Author’s Note: While the exercises use the Eclipse workbench for the purpose of Java development, the focus is to teach you Java, not all the intricacies of Eclipse.

With this workbook you will:
   • Learn key terms for all major concepts, including RPG IV, Java, ILE, date and time manipulation, object orientation and more.
   • Improve retention with multiple-choice questions.
   • Sharpen skills with applied knowledge drills.
   • Develop know-how through specially developed hands-on exercises.
